Fish Hotpot
Ingredients
1 x 125g (4 and one half oz) frozen cod in parsley sauce portion
55g (2oz) onion, chopped
2 small carrots, peeled and diced
1 small potato, peeled and diced
bay leaf
300ml (10 fl oz) hot water
55g (2oz) broccoli, cut into small florets
1 small tomato, skinned, deseeded and chopped
Serves 2-4 babies or 2 toddlers
Tip: If preferred use a frozen fish portion and make up your own white sauce, adding fresh chopped parsley.
Method
A quick and easy recipes to make for babies and can be frozen in ice cube trays or small plastic containers for up to 2 months, but remember to defrost overnight in the fridge before use, or heat thoroughly from frozen.
This recipe is suitable for babies between 6-9 months or toddlers.
Place the onions, carrots, potato and bayleaf into a large saucepan.
Add the water, cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the broccoli, cover and cook for a further 5 -7 minutes, add the tomato.
Meanwhile cook the fish according to the packet instructions, check for bones and set aside.
Place all the ingredients into a large bowl. Mash using a potato masher according to the consistency required for your child and serve.
